EasyJet to increase flights to Belfast from Luton Airport                June 25 2010

Luton Airport is happy to report that  Easyjet will be increasing its daily flights from Luton Airport to Belfast from October 31st 2010. This will mean that Easy Jet will now fly three times a day instead of two times a day allowing more passengers to fly to and from Belfast.

Easy Jet flights began in January to Belfast from Luton and according to a spokesman for the low cost airline, they have become so popular, Easy Jet have decided to increase the flights which a spokesman for Luton Airport said is great news.

Trevor Spinks, easy Jet’s Northern Ireland marketing manager, said the airline is "delighted" with the support it has had from its customers.

"With two daily flights we estimated that we would have 180,000 passengers a year on the route. Now with three flights, we believe that the figure will rise to 270,000," he explained.


New Fuenteventura Service from Luton Airport                                 October 21 2009

Monarch has announced new services from the UK to the Canary Islands of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

Beginning today (October 20th), the airline will operate routes from Birmingham, London Gatwick and Manchester airports, while Fuerteventura will also be served by London Luton Airport

The move takes the carrier to a total number of 15 routes from the UK.

Liz Savage, managing director of Monarch flights and holidays, said that the new flights "will operate in addition to our existing routes to Tenerife and Lanzarote" and that the airline has been "overwhelmed with how well these new services have been received, with 35,000 advanced bookings already taken".

Monarch has recorded a rise in popularity of its mid-haul destinations this year, taking 61 per cent more holidaymakers to Lanzarote last month than in September 2008.

Its new routes to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura will run on Mondays and Wednesdays respectively.


EasyJet to changes Irish Airports for Luton Airport flights      October 16 2009

Easyjet have announced that as of the start of next year,  flights to Belfast from  Luton Airport  will be arriving and Belfast City Airport rather than Belfast International Airport.

The budget airline has reinforced its commitment to Belfast International Airport, but admits that this route is something of a test to see if passengers prefer flying to an airport that is closer to Belfast itself.


New Winter services for Luton Airport                                   August 20 2009

The Romanian airline, Blue Air has announced plans to begin new flights at Luton Airport this winter. They will begin flights to Bacau, located at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains.

The new flights between Luton and Bacau will operate twice a week and will be in addition to current services on the route, first launched in June.

Simon Harley, airline manager at Luton Airport, said: "We are delighted with the success of the Bacau service and to see winter flights now on sale with Blue Air.

"Low fares flying continues to make business and leisure travel increasingly accessible to millions of Europeans and the continuation of this now year-round service to Bacau provides yet more choice for our passengers."

 


El Al has a new service  from Luton Airport to Tel Aviv,with onward connections to Mumbai,Hong Kong, Beijing and Bangkok

 


Wizz Air has commenced direct flights from Luton Airport to Lviv in the Ukraine.


The Italian lo-cost airline Wind Jet is introducing twice weekly flights from Luton Airport to Forli Airport, in Italy, commencing 2 July 2009.


easyJet today announced its 2009/10 winter schedule, including 15 new routes across Europe.

EasyJet announces New Flights to Tel Aviv, Israel

EasyJet has announced that it will introduce a daily service ( except Fridays) from London Luton Airport to Tel Aviv

Commenting on the new link, easyJet Chief Executive Andy Harrison said: "This is a major breakthrough. For the first time the travelling public in the London area has the choice between a high-cost traditional airline and a low-cost alternative.

"We look forward to bringing our unique blend of low fares with friendly service to a whole new market."


Wizz Air, the largest low fare - low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe announced today that it would continue to operate the Varna - London Luton Airport service all year round.

Wizz Air's fleet currently consists of 26 Airbus A320 aircraft operating from 11 bases in Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. The airline carried 6.5 million passengers in the past 12 months.
